Boring, boring photos

I finished this last afghan so long ago I don't even remember when it was. Let's see... I sent it off to Baby CH on Sept. 15, which I remember because that is her parents' fifth wedding anniversary! Congratulations, R&J!
Here's a very boring photo of the afghan I crocheted for their first baby, C, against my needs-a-good-scrub kitchen floor. I know the yarn is machine-dryable, but I didn't feel like running it through the dryer when I could just put it on my sweater-drying racks and let it dry on its own.
This one is a bit longer and a bit narrower than my usual afghans, because of how the pattern repeat worked out. Actually if you look closely at the top, you can see where I did only one repeat of the narrow stripes, instead of the usual two. When I realized this, I did have a moment of "oh no, now I need to add some more rows," but then I convinced myself to just. Let. It. Go. Aren't you so proud? :-)

I then promptly forgot to take any interesting pictures of this afghan until the day I realized that it was the parents' anniversary and I really wanted to just get it in the mail, so I shipped it off to its new home with the darling baby C and her adoring parents. This is the best picture I have, which kind of makes me sad because the afghan turned out really cute, and all my pictures are so boring. I guess I'll have to email R to ask for a picture of C with her afghan! This is another afghan made from Bernat Baby Coordinates, which I love because it's already soft when you work with it, but then after a wash with some fabric softener it's just the snuggliest thing ever. I would seriously consider using it for every afghan if I could find it in more colors in the local stores.

And here's a rather misleading sneak peek at the next afghan, for baby EG, daughter of E&J, another first baby. This afghan is coming along much slower than it really should, mostly because I'm getting a bit tired of all this crocheting. I am seriously considering knitting the next baby afghan, even if it does mean I'll have to do squares or something small and piece them together. Anyway, this afghan will turn out a bit different from what you will probably expect from this photo... which is why I took the picture this way. I might be around 2/3 done with that one, so it shouldn't be too much longer before I can show the official completed photos. Stay tuned!
